Oil, gas and mining models we build
KiwiMill builds models of oil, gas, and mining equipment and sites: pumpjacks, frac and manifold trailers, sand transloaders, storage tanks, valves, and complete fields and plants. Many of them move. Pumpjacks are motorized, a 6-foot transloader dumps its bins on servos, and animated LNG regasification, carbon capture, and oil field models show product flowing from stage to stage.
Our valve models are built for the training room too: turn the handwheel and the gate or ball moves. They're built from 3D printed parts, with brass, aluminum, and sheet metal wherever they take stress, for a trade show circuit where a model gets crated, shipped, and set up again and again.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an oil, gas, or mining model cost?
Models typically start around $6,000. Multi-model projects often run $10,000 and up. In this category the biggest drivers are how much of a site you show, how many process stages are animated, and how many vehicles or units are on the base. A quote is free. Send CAD, drawings, or photos of the equipment or site.
Can you show a whole site, not just one machine?
Yes. We've built an animated oil and gas field on a 24 by 23 inch footprint that shows extraction, flow paths, and processing; an LNG regasification plant that animates the conversion from liquid to gas; a carbon capture facility that follows exhaust from the power plant to injection at the wellhead; and a mining landscape with terrain and material flow. A site model is mostly a decision about what to feature and what to simplify, and we work that out with you before we build.
Will it hold up on the oilfield trade show circuit?
That's what we build for. One customer came to us after a model from another shop proved too delicate to keep shipping to shows; we rebuilt it in soldered brass and aluminum. Skids and bases are sheet metal, and every model ships in a Pelican or custom case.
Can we use the model to train crews, too?
Yes. Our valve training models (plug, gate, trunnion ball, and top-entry ball) work like the real thing: turn the wheel and the gate opens or the ball rotates, with the grease ports and seals where a technician expects them. We've also built an underground storage tank cutaway that teaches owners and operators the parts they need to keep in compliance.
We don't have full CAD. Can you still build it?
Usually, yes. CAD is fastest, but we've modeled equipment in-house from reference photos alone; our large working pumpjack was designed that way. Send whatever you have and we'll tell you what else we need.
