KiwiMill built these gate valve models to work like the real thing: turn the handwheel and the gate moves. The set includes a solid version and several cutaways with red section faces, so the same valve can be seen both closed up and opened out.
In the cutaways, the stem runs from the red handwheel down through the bonnet's yellow and green packing seals to the gate, which travels up and down against a black seat ring inside the flanged body. A clear tube over the threaded stem lets you watch it rise as the handwheel turns.
